My approach is child-centred and solutions focused,

I take time to understand what you need help with, whether you are a parent or a school, because my service is about individual needs and solutions.

I help parents understand their child’s difficulties with learning. Parents know when something isn’t right with their child’s interaction with education or the progress they are making and it is often hard to know who to turn to for advice.

A clinical diagnosis doesn’t come with a manual of advice and the challenges faced are personal and change over time. Observing that a child is avoiding or struggling with something is an indication that help is needed and unpicking that is key to effective intervention.

I enable parents and their child to feel empowered, confident and listened to. Clinicians and therapists are specialists in their fields but too often they only look at a specific aspect of a child’s learning and development. I look at the whole picture, understand your concerns and then guide, advise and support you.

Everything starts with a free, no obligation call.

I remember when you explained to me why I find reading and writing difficult. I was able to trust you, feel comfortable and not ashamed of my struggles. You understood my challenges.

Read the story behind this.

My child-centred, holistic approach stems from my Montessori training with the importance of noticing the behaviour and looking beyond a ‘labels’ at the individual’s profile of strengths and difficulties. I believe in the importance of early intervention and place great value on self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.

Labels are useful but often they don’t tell the whole story and a diagnosis can be delivered without personalised advice. I help parents and schools to understand the individual to enable effective support and intervention, at home and in the classroom.

During nearly two decades experience as a specialist teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in the independent sector, I have provided support for children, advised parents and managed the school-wide provision of support both in and outside the classroom.

I have a comprehensive knowledge of how difficulties can impact learning, relationships and everyday life. As a passionate supporter of a neurodiverse approach, recognising and respecting neurological differences as human variation, I advocate an approach that is centred on the needs of the individual. The practical recommendations and strategies I provide will help your child with current challenges and build towards the next stage of their educational journey.

Everything starts with a free, no obligation call.
